About Kyros Kebab

History of Kyros Kebab

Company Background
Gettmore Group Sdn. Bhd., the franchisor and trademark owner was founded on June 25, 1996 to carry on the business of operating and franchising a fast food chain under the trade name of "Kyros Kebab". Kyros Kebab was started by a group of enterprising Malaysians who saw the potential of selling kebab, a traditional Mediterranean food, through a modern fast food chain in order to bring this delicacy to more Malaysians throughout the country.
Kebab is a healthy wholesome family meal that can be eaten by people of all races. It is prepared with quality meat, special spices and ingredients and is cooked over a rotating infrared burner. The cooked meat is served in Lebanese bread with fresh vegetables and Kyros special sauce that is a secret recipe. Kyros Kebab provides a choice of chicken, lamb, beef, fish and vegetarian kebabs, in its menu.

In Turkey where it originated, kebabs are prepared and served by street hawkers. Kyros Kebab has changed the culture of selling kebab by bringing it to the shopping complexes where patrons can enjoy the meal in a comfortable environment. Kyros Kebab outlets always display a bright, fresh and contemporary image that complements the modern lifestyle of today’s consumers.

The first outlet was opened on April 23, 1997 in Kuala Lumpur. On May 8, 1998,
the company opened its fourth outlet at Scotts Picnic Food Court in Suria KLCC,
a premier shopping Centre in KL City Center which also includes the landmark
Petronas Twin Towers, the tallest twin towers in the world.
Presently, there are 44 Kyros Kebab outlets throughout Malaysia, making Kyros Kebab the largest
kebab chain in the whole of Malaysia. In 2003, KYROS KEBAB has merged with the CAB Cakaran group and was subsequently listed on the main board of Bursa Malaysia.
